Carbon raiser is an important raw materials in steelmaking field.At present,
there are mainly three kinds of them. According the carbon content , we can named it GradeA ,GradeB and GradeC.
Grade A/ Carbon Additive made from Coal (Anthracite)
GradeB/ Carbon Additive made from Calcined petroleum coke
GradeC/ Carbon Additive made from Synthetic Graphite
So what 's the basic diffierence of them . Grade A is the cheapest one, the Carbon
content of it is usually lower than 90%, and it used in low quality steel making.
Grade B is the medium one, the carbon can be as high as 98%, however, too much
harmful matters in it, such as N,P, S, Ash . the S can make steel more fragile at high
temperature, on the contrary , the P makes steel more fragile at lower temperature.
Grade c is the most used carbon raiser in high carbon-steel and high quality steel
foundry. It 's not only high carbon as high as 99%, but also low S.N,P. Most tool steel
structure steel manufactures also has a high demand about it.
